Rant of the day

I'm currently in the western suburbs of Sydney. I intensely dislike the western suburbs. It's grubby, it's flat, there is no ocean. And what's more, nobody walks! I'm the only one on foot, everyone else is driving. And part of the reason for this may be the sidewalk mayhem that presides. 

Today, I encountered a number of cars parked ON the sidewalk. It's a sideWALK, not a sidePARK. One of said cars was parked in such a way that I couldn't get past it. I either had to get out onto Woodville Road (not happening, especially not pushing a pram!) or I had to lift the pram to coax it past the wheel of the car. SERIOUSLY. Does this person think he (yes I assume it's a man) owns the street or possibly that he's the only person important enough to use it?
