On the final morning we said goodbye to the kookaburras and the kangaroos and headed for Sydney. We chose the coast road from Wollongong that takes you right on the edge of the cliff, and that was really the last memorable part of the journey. After that it was all traffic and busy streets and by early afternoon we had returned the Spaceship in Mascot, and the hills and the plains seemed very, very far away.
Next time I want to go to Melbourne the back way via Broken Hill and Adelaide.
