Call the Midwife

I'm watching Call the Midwife at the moment. The child births are depicted slightly more believable than most that you see on TV, even if they are all rather quick. The one thing that causes me some anxiety is that all the mothers are made to lie down in labour. My goodness, I couldn't imagine anything worse.

Also, the 1950's nurses uniforms with giant balloon sleeves are horrendous.
