The evening the girls spent mostly planning to go straight back to the beach (any beach, we have no shortage) in the morning. They also did manage some more advanced planning involving places like Melbourne, Brisbane, Surfers Paradise and the Whitsundays. Not sure where they ended up on the travel plans though.
I also have not had a chance to ask them this morning, because they are still asleep. It's now 10.40 am, and they have yet to emerge from the guest room. Unless they climbed out the window and took off to Surfers Paradise in the night, but I doubt it. I find myself being very much a GROWN-UP. Because I suspect real grown-ups also think to themselves: "Tut tut, young people. Still sleeping! Half the day wasted! Tut tut."
In reality, I achingly long for those days when I could choose not to get up all day if I wished. The days when I opened one eye at around lunchtime on a Sunday and Dwayne went out and got us burgers to eat in bed. They were good times, when nobody demanded cartoons at 5.30 am, or wanted to be fed before dawn. Good times indeed.
