Cool change

On Tuesday we had a typical Sydney crazy hot day with a cool change out of nowhere in the afternoon. Our travelling visitors and I (and Clara!) picked Daisy up from preschool at around 5pm. It was still oppressingly hot at around 37c with a light breeze like a hairdryer in your face. We drove to the beach in Ettalong which took about five minutes. When we got out of the car, to our great surprise, the wind had changed and came in with fresh southerly force. Sand was whipping at our legs, and ocean spray was cascaded onto the beach. Clara clung to me in her baby carrier, a bit concerned with the sand against her legs and gasping from the wind in her face. Daisy and cousin Vera on the other hand donned swimming costumes and braved the ocean spray.

The temperature dropped to 23c within the hour. Welcome as always, southerly change!
