The early bird catches the worm

I am a morning person. I hear people at work talking about how they don't speak to anyone before a certain time in the morning, or how they can't function without their morning jolt of coffee. Or how they oversleep. I cannot relate in the slightest.

I always wake up before the alarm goes off. I agree the process of actually getting from horizontal to vertical in the morning can be rather objectionable, but once I'm up I'm up. And once I'm out of the shower I have a spring in my step. I will gladly hold a monologue to my semi-unconscious husband whilst pouring milk on my muesli.

Early mornings are great. They are peaceful and quiet (because everyone else is either sleeping or refusing to speak). The weather almost always looks promising at the break of dawn. There is no traffic. And if you start work really early, you can leave early and feel like you did a short day.

What's there not to like about early mornings?

Actually, I read this post through and realised this sounds just like someone I know. And all of you out there who know my father will know what I mean.

The only difference being that my early morning monologues are usually on any subject other than politics.
