I have noticed that drivers all over the world struggle with how to use the indicators when going through a roundabout. But nowhere are the drivers as confused as they are in Sydney. There is blinking left and right and left-right and everything inbetween, and nobody knows where anybody is going. Looking at which side of the car is blinking tells you nothing at all.
Most drivers always blink left when entering the roundabout, I can only assume because the first bend is to the left, regardless of which exit they are aiming for. This results in other drivers waiting at the next entry venturing into the roundabout under the impression that the first driver intends to go left, and then there is chaos. I have learnt never to trust indication, it means nothing and will get you in trouble.
How hard can it be? If you're going left - indicate left. If you're going right - indicate right. Jeez.
